/* ===========================================================================
theme.css — shared footer for the marketing site.

2026-09-10 (Chris: "we are getting non standard footers over the website").
Every top-level page defined its own footer CSS (border color, padding,
font-size) and its own --border/--faint tokens inline, and both had
drifted independently — index.html used 34px padding and 13px text where
every other page used 40px/13.5px, tour.html used a different class name
(.site-footer) with hardcoded rgba colors instead of any variable at all,
and the --border/--faint values themselves varied page to page (e.g.
#27272a vs #2a2a2f vs #2b2b30). Two pages had also drifted their actual
footer nav LINKS out of sync: apps.html was missing Tour; contact.html was
   missing Templates and Languages.

This file is the fix: the footer's structural CSS and its two tokens live
here once, linked from every page's <head>, instead of re-declared (and
   re-drifting) in each page's own inline <style>.

Deliberately NOT centralised here: --bg, --text, --muted, --accent, and
other tokens that shape a whole page's look, not just its footer. Several
pages hold those at genuinely different shades on purpose (index.html's
hero is closer to pure black/white than the inner pages); unifying them
would be a site-wide recolor, not a footer fix, and nobody asked for that.
The footer's own background still reads each page's own --bg, so it always
sits flush with that page rather than showing a seam at a fixed shade.

Scope: applied to the 13 top-level English pages first. The ~26 translated
locale copies under website/<lang>/ have the same drift and are a planned
follow-up pass — same fix, applied once the English pages are verified live,
rather than one scripted sweep across ~230 files sight-unseen.
